We are the leading Christian values-based spirit-led Cooperative Federation; a model of resource-sharing, financial strength and economic abundance for all.





In the late 1990’s, Couples for Christ began to recognize the need to assist its members economically.   Cooperativism was one of the options seriously considered.  The CFC Leaders back then went to Spain to study Mondragon Cooperative Corporation, one of the best models of a successful cooperative. CFC Leaders enjoined all provinces to set up their own Coops for Christ.   One of the first Coops for Christ established were Laguna, Manila, Cebu, Davao etc. The CFC Cooperative System (CCS) was established to organize the different Coop with the goal of Cooperative Development.  This was an informal association of Coops for Christ.  It oversees the cooperatives and assists the provinces to establish their own Cooperative. In 2004, the groundwork for the registration for CFC Co-operatives Federation was began by the CCS officers, Dominador Gregorio, Bernadette Cuevas and Bernardo Cataluna (+) In January 14, 2005, an Organizational meeting was held in Metro Manila.  An election of the Interim Board of Directors was held:

On April 9, 2005, in a meeting held in Subic Zambales the CFC Co-operatives Federation Articles of Cooperation and By-Laws were signed by the representatives of 22 Cooperators.   The Federation was registered with the Cooperative Development Authority on May 11, 2005.

The goals of the Federation in 2005 were:

  1. Creation of an economic powerhouse – to reverse the trend that the rich gets richer,
  2. Reduce poverty by creating jobs and empowering the poor.
  3. Provide safety net for social security.

These goals are still applicable to this day. The Vision and Mission was crafted a strategic planning held in Pagbilao Quezon on August, 8, 2008.


In September 2010, CCF signed a Memorandum of Agreement with Cooperative Insurance System of the Philippines for the Mutual Aid Benefit System.  This was in compliance with the Joint IC-CDA-SEC memorandum Circular 01-2010 and 02-2010 which categorized Damayan as a Pseudo Insurance product.


The CCF Board of Directors had a Medium Term Planning from March 2-3, 2012 where the the 5-Year Medium Term plans were drafted.


In September 15, 2012, CCF signed a Memorandum of Agreement with College of Cooperatives and Social Development, Polytechnic University of the Philippines.   The Partnership was for PUP to conduct Cooperative continuous education particularly the CDA Mandated Training for CCF member-primaries. In January 18, 2013 CCF signed a Memorandum of Agreement with CPA Plus Coop. CCF member-primaries can avail of CPA Plus Coop services such as bookkeeping, audit , management consultancy etc.  CPA Plus Coop can also offer pro-bono audit services to cooperatives that passed the criteria set.     CDA granted the Certificate of Accreditation to CFC Co-operatives Federation as a Cooperative Training Provider last May 21, 2013.   The goal is to be able to provide Christian Based Cooperative Training to its members and even non-members.


A partnership with Manila Bankers Life Insurance was formalized last December 2013 for the Life Insurance Coverage of the members.




CFC Co-operatives Federation is one of the CFC programs under the Building the Church of the Poor Office.

Couples for Christ (CFC) is an International Association of the Catholic Faithful that has been granted official recognition by the Holy See. CFC is governed by the International Council in accordance to its statutes as described in the official website of the Pontifical Council for the Laity.

Couples for Christ (CFC) is a Catholic lay movement established for the renewal and strengthening of Christian family life. The members commit themselves to the Lord and to one another so that they may grow in maturity as men and women of God and fulfill their primary vocation of raising up families under the lordship of Jesus Christ and for the service of the Kingdom of God.

Couples for Christ is a work of Christ which raises up Christian couples and establishes Christian families committed to the work of evangelization, winning the world for Christ and Total Human Liberation through the power of the Holy Spirit.

It grows mainly through the establishment of localized units in different parishes.
