Posted on 2016-03-16 by Harmony Medina

Twenty-one (21) active primary cooperative – affiliate members of the CFC Co-operative Federation (CCFed) represented by 37 delegates convened last March 5, 2016 at the CFC Davao Provincial Mission Center for the 11th General Assembly.

Bro. Irwin Pagdalian, CFC Davao Provincial Area Director led the opening worship.   Bro. Noel Dacalos, Regional Head welcomed the delegates to Davao City.    The guest speaker, Bro. James Solano CFC Board of Elders, exalted the delegates to have joy in serving the coops.    Phil. 4:5  “Let your kindness be known to all.”

The proceedings were temporarily stopped because of rotating brownout.    But true to the determination of the coop, the General Assembly continued despite the lack of electricity.   There was a slight change in the Agenda to accommodate this development.   The election was presided by the Committee Chair Lydia Bilangbilin and Committee member Bro. Constancio Maceda. Sis. Lydia presented the Election Rules and Guidelines.   The Board of Directors elected was CoFC Davao, CoFC Laguna, CoFC Southern Leyte and CoFC Agusan del Norte.  They will be serving as members of the BOD for the next two years.

Upon resumption of electricity, Ms. Jekree Mangahas and Mr. Irvin de Leon presented BDO Cash Card.   This was followed by a presentation from the Philippine Cooperative Center represented by Ms. Marlene Sindayen, BOD member and Elsie Remonte, Operations Manager.   Ms. Elsie oriented the delegates about Philippine Cooperative Center, updates on the cooperative movement particularly the Cooperative Summit in October 2016 and Taxation.  Most cooperatives have problems related to Taxation and securing the Tax Exemption Certificate.   The PCC together with CDA are working together to assist all coops about this.    All CCFed members are enjoined to submit in writing all the Taxation issued encountered to the Federation.  This will be complied and presented to CDA thru PCC.

The Coop Video, produced by CCFed and the new logo was presented to the Assembly.  The video will be forwarded to all CCFed members in time for the General Assemblies this month.
